Veterans' Programs

It’s been said that a Veteran is someone who, at one point in his or her life, wrote a blank check made payable to ‘The United States of America’ for an amount of “…up to and including my life…”. This is honor, and compatriots of the George Washington Chapter seek opportunities to recognize such individuals by attending and participating in events, ceremonies, parades, and service programs. Special days include Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, Patriots Day, Constitution Day, and Veterans Day.

During 2009, the Chapter collected over 700 playing cards from area casinos and sent them to veterans/nursing homes and to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.
