Allegiance Sunday
Annually, the George Washington
Chapter contacts churches and temples to participate in the celebration
of Independence Day by reciting the
Pledge of Allegiance, or singing a patriotic song, and return a copy
of the church bulletin or program to the Chapter secretary. In 2009 over
6,400 estimated parishioners representing 28 churches participated
